March 12-15, 2022 - Exuma Land & Sea Park

March 12, 2022 Off to Warderick Wells 

6:00am-  I got up and everyone was still sleeping. Looks like everyone settled in quite nicely.

7:30am- We all had our breakfast of bagels and raisin bread. 

8:00am-  we detached from the mooring and off we go to Exumas Land and Sea at Warderick Wells. 

The kids went on the bow with Nicky as we were departing. 

Brent and Steve put out the fishing rods. 
9:15am-  We all got excited when we heard the reel screaming however the fish got off. Darn. We only have  a mile of fishing water. 

11:30am-  We arrived at Land and Sea after a wonderful sail going 5 to 7 knots. We covered 17.5nm. 

12:00pm-  mMade sandwiches for lunch. 

After they ate, the  kids and Brent didn’t take long to jump in the water and start exploring. Brent naturally took his camera. 

Steve and Nicky went to the office and paid up until Wednesday. When Steve returned, they all went to snorkel while I stayed on the boat to make hors D’oeuvres for happy hours.  Everyone came back and showered. 

2:00pm-  The kids played cards while Nicky sun bathed and Brent when exploring with the dinghy. 

3:30pm-  Nicky and Brent took the kids for a hike while Steve and I rested on the boat. We didn’t bother going to happy hour. We ended up eating the hors d’oeuvres I made after the kids got back around 4:45pm. 

6:00pm-  Dinner tonight is pork chops, rice and beans and salad. After dinner, Brent noticed a shark swimming behind our boat. We started feeding him left over black beans and all of a sudden 3 of them showed up. Brent tried getting underwater pictures. Can’t wait to see what photos he managed to capture. 

7:30pm- After dessert, we all played a card game called CAD. The kids then got ready for bed then watched a movie for 45 minutes while the adults sat around the table talking. 

9:30-  Nicky and I went to bed while the men stayed up and drank beer. 

Another great day! 

March 13, 2022- Time changed

12:30am- The wind started picking up

Steve and I got up a couple of times during the night to make sure everything was ok with the mooring. In looking at  the wind instrument, we saw it was gusting up to 30. 

I noticed Parker, during the night, joined his mom in bed while Brent slept out in the cockpit. 

We lost an hour due to time change. 

8:00am- Everyone started waking up. I made blueberry pancakes for breakfast. 

The kids stayed behind to paint a sign for Boo boo hill while Brent & Nicky went hiking and exploring on this cloudy windy day. 

For lunch we all had hot dogs. 

Brent took the dinghy and went exploring by himself. He is always scoping out photo opportunities for his photography business. 

2:00pm- Steve and I took the kids to Boo boo hill while Nicky and Brent rested on the boat. It was so windy. The kids placed their signs on other offerings. 

They loved playing on the beach. 

When we returned to the boat, I happened to throw an old piece of vegetable in the water and all of a sudden, there were sharks swarming around the boat. We tried to capture the moments with the go pro camera and the shark came up to bite it. Unfortunately, the angle of the camera wasn’t correct. So exciting though. 

5:30pm-  For dinner tonight, I made chicken, stove top, mash potatoes with gravy and cranberry sauce. 

7:00pm-  Instead of playing cards tonight, we played chicken foot. The kids really liked it. After 3 games, they then got ready to watch a movie and then went to bed. 

Nicky and I played a computer game, while Steve read and Brent worked on his photos 

March 14, 2022

The wind howled all night and it rained but everyone slept well. 

7:30am- Breakfast this morning was breakfast sandwiches (bacon, eggs and cheese on an English muffin) 

9:30am- Brent, Nicky, Lyla and Parker went to re-explore Boo hoo hill and blow hole. 

Steve made water and I cleaned the boat. 

11:30am- I made sandwiches for the adults and noodles for the kids. 

After lunch Brent went kayaking to explore new things. 

The rest of us played cards. 

Rain, rain and rain. 

                                

When Brent returned, 

He took Parker to play catch on a sand bar while it wasn’t raining.

We are trying to make the best of the day with all the rain. 

6:00pm - For dinner, we had sausage, potatoes, bean salad and cauliflower. 

7:00pm-  Because it was raining, we kept busy with playing card and then later chicken foot. 

9:30pm-  The kids watched a series before going to bed. 

Brent worked on his photography. 

10:00pm-  The moon is bright and 3/4 full. The stars are trying to peep out from behind the clouds. Hopefully the sun will come out tomorrow. 

March 15, 2022

7:30am- Yeah!  The sun is out. Breakfast this morning is coconut bread French toast. Brent actually went kayaking before breakfast. Good day to dry all the towels. 

8:30am-  Nicky and Brent went up Boo boo hill to get reception in order to make a phone call I went kayaking while the kids coloured and Steve sat on the bow of the boat. A National Geographic vessel named Sea Lion appeared and dropped off approximately 20 people to explore the island. 

10:30am- Everyone went swimming off the boat to the sand bars  Everyone took advantage of the nice weather. Brent used his drone and camera to capture more photos of this area. 

Lyla and Parker had fun jumping off the boat. 

1:00am-  The adults got sandwiches while the kids had Kraft dinner for lunch on the deck of the boat while drying. 

2:00pm- Nicky and I went for a walk on another beach. You had to go Thru a jungle like trail  

Lyla liked kayaking 

3:00pm- Margaritas time. Parker has been wanting a Margarita since he has been on the boat.  00pm- when we returned, it was Margaritas time. Parker has been wanting a Margarita since he has been on the boat. 

4:00pm-  While Nicky and Brent went  exploring in the dinghy, the kids stayed with us as they swam. We then gave them a shower. 

5:30pm- Dinner tonight is Taco Tuesday. 

6:30pm- Brent and Nicky to the kids to explore a beach they have not seen while Steve and I enjoyed watching the sunset from the boat with a glass of wine.

Before bed, we played a game of chicken foot.
