March 1, 2022- Farmers Cay
7:00am- Had our morning coffee and breakfast.
8:00am- Steve retightened the auto pilot before leaving. 8:30am- Anchor is up and leaving Lee Stocking Island as we are heading to Little Farmers Cay.
8:45am- Sail are up and we are going 5 kn.
9:10am- We just went by a sailing vessel named “ Harvest Moon”. I just love Neil Young and that song.
I figure I would work on my basket weaving as we were sailing. Such a beautiful calm sail.
There are a lot of boaters moving today before the next weather front. It is the perfect sailing day.
10:30am- We went by this 3 mast schooner named Ambergris.
11:15am- Because the wind died down and also we will be going through the Farmers Cay cut, we decided to take our sails down.
For some reason, we were hungry, so we had crackers, cheese and oysters for lunch. Steve put a little oyster oil on the fishing lures earlier but still no fish. So many boaters are displaying their misfortune in fishing this year.
12:15pm- Arrived at Little Farmers Cay as we covered 17.26 km. today.
We lowered the dinghy in the water and went for a walk at 1:00pm with Sue and Gunter on the island. We got a tour from JD Sculpture of his property. He grows all kinds of trees which produces all different fruit. So interesting.
Unfortunately, none of them were ripe enough to try out.
He also does all kinds of wooden carving.
We walked on a pier where a local was making conch salad. Of course Steve had to try it out.
We then went to Little Farmers Yacht Club where Steve and I sat at the bar and had a beer.
3:00pm- we return to the boat and the bread went in the oven.
Dinner tonight was leftover spaghetti with homemade bread.
.
We watched a few series before Steve went to bed to read and I played my ukulele until bedtime
