7:00am- Anchor is up and off we go to the top point of Long Island. As we were leaving with S/V Shooting Star, we noticed a rainbow.

9:45am- We are just went by the area where Christopher Columbus discovered Long Island.
5:30pm- Met Ruth Ann and Fred at the restaurant for Happy Hour and then dinner. We were so full by the time we left.
2:30am- Woke up to the rain and the boat rocking. I usually get up to make sure I closed all the hatches before going to bed.
What a gorgeous sail. We have both sails up, motor off, sun out and we are going 6.5 and a speed of 7.5 miles at the bottom.
8:30am We just turned 7000 km since we purchased our navigational chart plotter which was when we purchased it in 2010.

Interesting facts:
Long Island was the third Island to be discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1492. In his diary Columbus is said to have described Long Island as the most beautiful island he had ever seen. A monument to Christopher Columbus is erected on top of the white bluffs of the north end of the Island
It started raining as we approached Long Island. It was the perfect sail however no fish.
10:30am- After 19 km, we arrived at Calabash Bay, Long Island. Just in time before it started raining.

11:30am- We we’re both hungry so we had an early lunch.
2:45pm- Went on shore to make reservations for 6pm at Santa Maria Restaurant.
We then dinghied around a bit. Steve read while I painted all afternoon.
5:00- The combination of clouds and sun painted a beautiful scene.
