February 11, 2022 - Calabash Bay, Long Island

2:30am- Woke up to the rain and the boat rocking. I usually get up to make sure I closed all the hatches before going to bed. 
thanks 7:00am-  Anchor is up and off  we go to the top point of Long Island.  As we were leaving with S/V Shooting Star, we noticed a rainbow. 
What a gorgeous sail. We have both sails up, motor off, sun out and we are going 6.5 and a speed of 7.5 miles at the bottom.
8:30am We just turned 7000 km since we purchased our navigational  chart plotter which was when we purchased it in 2010.

9:45am-  We are just went by the area where Christopher Columbus discovered Long Island.
Interesting facts:  
Long Island was the third Island to be discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1492. In his diary Columbus is said to have described Long Island as the most beautiful island he had ever seen. A monument to Christopher Columbus is erected on top of the white bluffs of the north end of the Island  
It started raining as we approached Long Island. It was the perfect sail however no fish. 
10:30am- After 19 km, we arrived at Calabash Bay, Long Island. Just in time before it started raining. 
11:30am-  We we’re both hungry so we had an early lunch. 
2:45pm- Went on shore to make reservations for 6pm at Santa Maria Restaurant. 
We then dinghied around a bit. Steve read while I painted all afternoon. 


5:00-  The combination of clouds and sun painted a beautiful scene. 


5:30pm-  Met Ruth Ann and Fred at the restaurant for Happy Hour and then dinner. We were so full by the time we left.

April 13, 2022 7:15am-  Having our coffee and breakfast before leaving Great Guana.  8:30am- Anchors are going up and heading to Treasure Cay.  It is only 9.5 kn miles.  Winds are 15-16mph from from SE with 2 ft waves.  We are motor sailing  I am anxious to see Treasure Cay after Dorian. For some reason, we don’t hear much about the progression from there like the other Cays. I am particularly interested since my sister and her husband plus friends Kim and Don rented a cute condo years ago when we first started sailing. I am anxious to see if they rebuilt them. Also, they have one of the most beautiful beaches.  10:20am-  Arrived at Treasure Cay. Already we see a difference in what used to be and the entrance has changed.  We didn’t waste time to go walk the beach. The marina was totally gone. March 7-8, 2022- Black Point

March 7, 2022 Another bumpy morning. The winds just keep coming. We were up on and off during the night. We can actually see on our iPad the boat moving around in the same spot from Navionics.  7:30am-  Had our coffee and breakfast.  I did some painting and basket weaving while Steve read.  10:00am- We decided to leave Little Bay and go to Black Point which is right around the corner.  We don’t seem to be getting the big swells here. It is wavy but not like Little Bay and now we can dinghy in town.  Others have moved here also.  2:00pm-  We were invited aboard by Fred and Sharon on the 80’ Northern Marine Yacht. We had a really nice visit. Of course, their boat, iiwii (it is what it is) was gorgeous.   Sharon and Fred gave us a tour of their lovely boat.  Their grand daughter is coming for a visit and they wanted a few pointers as to places to visit.  We sat at the stern of the boat.  4:30pm- We met Sue and Gunter at Lorr...
